It is now possible to watch live NBA games on the iPhone and Android, soon to Blackberry. This is what I’ve been waiting for. NOW my iPhone has some value! I have the NBA in my pocket (insert Dr. Evil laugh). This app snuck up on me as I didn’t think the network or hardware was ready for it yet. Being curious, I looked up this app online to read any articles on it and so far positive, sort of.
The articles don’t really critique the app. It lists what it can and can’t do. So, I went to the apple app store and looked up some reviews. Not surprised at what I saw, there was a slew of 1 star ratings with a few 5 stars (hmm…). Obviously, I payed attention to the 1 star ratings.

The main gripe of the bad reviews were that it plays fine for the 1st 15 minutes then gets so unbearably slow that people just turn it off. The other complaint is that local games are blacked out. My personal vex is that this app cost is in addition to the NBA league pass you already subscribe to, no discount!
It’s supposed to work over WI-FI and 3G. I read where people were switching to 3G when WI-FI crapped out in order to continue watching.
The App costs $40 and there is no trial period, which is one of my earlier vexes in a past podcast. I think apps over $10 should allow you to try it out.
So thats it, this app vexes me and I haven’t even used it. This proves that the review system really has some value. This would have been a waste had I forked over the $40, yet I still want to try it. Hmm…Does Apple issue refunds?
